Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 28, 2026

The short version: the Smashphone app collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, no servers of ours anywhere in the loop. Everything below explains the few places your data touches your own devices or Apple's services — never us. This website counts its visitors anonymously; that is described under This website.

Motion data

Smashphone reads the accelerometer and gyroscope of your iPhone — or your Apple Watch, if you use it as the racket — to detect your swings. This data is streamed only over your own local network, directly from your device to the browser you opened the game in. It is processed live for gameplay, never written to disk, and never transmitted to the internet. When you close the app, it is gone.

Local network

The app runs a small server on your phone so that your browser can load the game and receive swing data. This server is only reachable from your own Wi-Fi network or Personal Hotspot. In two-player Versus, a second iPhone joins the same session with a room code over that same local network. Nothing connects outward to anything.

Apple Health

If you turn on Save matches to Apple Health, finished matches are written to Apple Health as workouts — duration, active energy, and, when you play with an Apple Watch, heart rate. This information lives in Apple Health on your device, under your control and Apple's privacy protections. We never receive it, and you can turn the setting off at any time in the Profile tab.

Game Center

Game Center leaderboards are optional. If you are signed in to Game Center, your scores are submitted to Apple's leaderboards, which Apple operates under Apple's Privacy Policy. We run no leaderboard servers and receive no personal information from Game Center.

Purchases

Smashphone offers one optional in-app purchase, the All Sports Pass. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never see your name, card details, or Apple ID. Your ownership is stored as an on-device App Store receipt; there is no account, and we keep no record of who bought what.

Data we collect

This website

The app and this site are separate things. To know whether anyone is finding smashphone.ozlab.xyz, we use Vercel Web Analytics on the site only. It sets no cookies, keeps no IP address, and stores nothing on your device. Each visit is counted through a hash that is thrown away and re-salted every day, recording only which page was viewed, where the link came from, and a coarse country/browser/device type. That data cannot be traced back to you, joined across days, or followed to other websites — and there is no advertising network anywhere near it. The app never talks to this site.

Contacting support

If you write to us — by email, or through the support form — we receive only what you type and any device details the form shows you (app version and device model, to help us reproduce a bug). We use that solely to reply and are not required to keep it.

Children

Smashphone is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no data at all, and this site's visitor count identifies nobody, there is no data collection from children either.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Given the app's design — no accounts, no servers — we don't expect it to change often.
